Who We Are
Published by Liu Karama Productions LLC, emPower is a strong, upbeat, voice that praises Black accomplishments, deals with the day-to-day challenges facing Blacks globally, highlights community organizations and individuals who are giving back and publishes motivating columns.
Why We Write
emPower's mission is to not only deliver timely and thought-provoking articles and advice, but to also stimulate civic activism, volunteerism and cohesiveness. Features take an in-depth look at current issues. A "What YOU Can Do About It" sidebar, which lists organizations/groups that assist in the topic discussed, as well as ideas on how to make a difference on your own, will accompany each feature article.
Our Mission
Beginning in 2009, emPower will collaborate with non profit organizations so emPower readers can become active participants in their communities by donating their time, talents or money. Each year, the magazine will focus on one issue or cause. By having feature articles, blogs, and short documentaries on the spotlighted subject once a month, this will allow readers to become educated and thus become social changers.
